Newsdrop is a smart news curation app for iPhone and Apple Watch. It is based around a skimmable news feed and news summaries crafted to deliver as much information as possible in under 200 words.
The idea behind the app is simple: what if, instead of being bombarded with irrelevant news, you could get only the important stuff, read it fast, and be done with it? This is essentially what the app is about:
- Optimized for quick reading: The app is built around an optimized feed where you can get most of the information just by scanning through the news cards, without even opening the article.
- 200 words or less: Tapping on a card will expand it into a short article, broken down into three key paragraphs and always under 200 words.
- Written by humans: We don't use AI or automated bots. Instead, we have real human editors who write everything by hand by sifting through the stories and addressing any potential biases.
- Only what's relevant: Newsdrop is a digest, not a collection of everything's that's going on. We select what's most important, and avoid covering trivial news stories that honestly have no place on any reputable news site.
- No clickbait: Since Newsdrop aims to provide as much information as possible right there in the feed, clickbait is eliminated by design.
The app is also available on Apple Watch so you can glance at the headlines without having to open the app. You can find out more on our website or download it straight away from the App Store. You can also check us out on ProductHunt where we've been named Product of the Day.
