Proville is a Nigerian company based in Lagos that provides technology solutions for businesses in Nigeria and Africa. One of our solutions is the Proville.net platform available on the web and mobile (App stores) which promotes the future of work across Africa and the globe. Proville.net allows service receivers post jobs ranging from but not limited to web developments, business plans, social media consulting, writers and get quotes from a wide range of competent professionals available on the platform. The goal is simply to help reduce unemployment and underemployment across Nigeria and Africa while aligning with the future of smart work in line with Sustainable Development Goals 1, 8 and 9. This gives business owners the power to control how much they spend and what time frame the project is completed. On the other hand, the professional is also able to determine at what rate to work and with whom to work while being assured of payment through our escrow system that holds money in trust for every project until completion. This is very timely judging by the projection that shows that over 85% of the working population would be millennials by the year 2023. So, for example, Toke a business owner wants to grow her business, she would typically reach out to friends for a website designer, business consultant, social media consultant etc. Whereas there lies a Ken, Umar and Ade who have the required skill set Toke needs. Proville’s platform saves Toke the time and stress, all Toke needs is to log on to Proville.net, sign up and post a job with a set budget. Ken, Umar and Ade would be notified of the job and in turn, would submit proposals to Toke via the platform. Once Toke is satisfied, she accepts one of them, pays using our escrow system and the job commences. Upon completion and satisfaction of the job by Toke, Toke clicks on the release button and then payment is credited into Ken, Umar or Ade's account as the case may be. We have also been able to understand and adapt for the Africa labour market, and in order to close the gap, we decided to introduce our ProHub located in our Magodo GRA office in Nigeria to help train professionals from all sectors. They (inexperienced and experienced professionals) meet on Tuesdays to collaborate, learn and build capacity for a sustainable and healthy community. We believe this training and shared knowledge would help them compete globally and perform better on the client’s job.
