U-Nest

U-Nest is a digital investment platform that will help parents and other family members of any income level to save for kids’ college education in a very simple way. We’ll be using the tax-efficient investment account called 529 plan. Surprisingly, about 70% of people in the US don't know about 529 plans, and those who know find the process extremely cumbersome and inconvenient. The limited access to the information and complexity associated with investments result in low level of savings. As a result the student debt in the US is at the highest level in history, estimated at $1.4 trillion! The platform will be integrating personalized features from companies like Venmo and Airbnb, have an ability to share link with friends and family (i.e. for Birthday gifts), have a forum to engage customers in discussions, and have an easy-to-use college savings calculator to help estimate the savings goal.
